Top therapists in Buffalo, NY accepting new patients
My name is Courtney Kadish-Smith and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have worked in both mental health and addiction throughout my career. I have a passion for therapy and at the end of the day I am aware this is not an easy thing to commit too. Exploring into ourselves and working to get better is something that takes courage. I applaud you for reaching out in the first place and now we can take the step together towards making your life better.
Born and raised in WNY, attended SUNY Buffalo, obtaining my bachelor's in psychology and master's in Social Work there.
I enjoy working with people of all ages who are striving to move through and process the difficult life experiences, changes and transitions we all experience such as grief & loss, divorce, trauma, addictions of all kinds, parenting and behavioral problems in children and adolescents.
I came to therapy from teaching, and that background shapes how I show up: I'm used to adapting to who's in front of me, reading what's unsaid, and finding an approach that actually fits the person — not just the presenting concern.
I work with adolescents and adults on trauma, PTSD, anxiety, panic, maternal mental health, grief, and family stress. EMDR is a core part of my practice — particularly for clients whose past experiences still affect how they feel and function today, even when they'd rather they didn't.
I keep a small, intentional caseload. If you'd like to see if we're a good fit, I offer a free phone consultation before we commit to anything.
I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor with a background in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor with 9 years of experience. I have worked with individuals with dual diagnosis with substance use including anxiety, depression, Bipolar and trauma. I look forward to guiding you on your courageous journey. I work with children and adults.
I have over 36 years of clinical experience working with a wide variety of clinical disorders. I offer services to a multitude of client populations. I also conduct individual, couples and family therapy sessions.
I have been helping people finding solutions to complex problems for more than 20 years. I have a wealth of experience with individuals across the life span and the many challenges we face at various stages of life.
If trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, or relationship concerns are affecting your life, I offer virtual therapy for adults from age 18 through older adulthood. I’m an LCSW licensed in Florida and New York, with 16 years of experience.
