My name is J.J. Mull -- I'm a clinical social worker and therapist in private practice. I trained and Smith College School for Social Work and received advanced training in psychoanalytic treatment at Cambridge Health Alliance through Harvard Department of Psychiatry. Since finishing my training, I have worked in a wide range of settings with people struggling with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, substance use disorders, significant trauma, and many other issues. In addition to my clinical work, I am a writer, poet, and researcher and have been a professor in the Masters in Social Work program at Smith College for 4 years.
I’m Angela, a dedicated and empathetic Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience providing comprehensive mental health care. I work with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use, and sleep disorders, as well as life transitions related to relationships, career, and personal growth. My focus is on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where every client feels heard and empowered.
I have been in clinical practice for almost 15 years. I believe that in therapy, a client should experience a balance of feeling challenged and actively engaged, while also feeling fully accepted and safe. I bring warmth, playfulness, genuineness, courage and openness into our sessions.
I am experienced with guiding clients through recovering from traumas, anxiety, depression, addictions of any variety, navigating grief and life transitions, and relational challenges of all kinds.

I am a multi state licensed clinician offering Marriage Therapy for private pay along with parent-child therapy.
I have a unique professional background that includes working extensively with refugee and immigrant populations in a variety of settings, community based work serving youth, and crisis response. I grew up outside of San Francisco and moved around from state to state until I ended up in Boston. The diversity of my experiences and environments have shown me as much about the complexity of people as it has the beautiful simplicity that everyone shares a need (and deserves!) to be listened to, believed in, and safe to express how they feel.
