I’m an Army veteran and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is passionate about helping people feel understood, supported, and empowered. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science from National Louis University in 2013 and my master’s degree in Social Work from Aurora University, earning my LSW in 2024 and LCSW in 2025. My experience includes working with veterans, children, teens, young adults, couples, and families across the Department of Veterans Affairs, Volunteers of America Illinois, residential treatment, and dual-diagnosis settings. I support clients navigating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions, including individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community.
I seek to provide culturally affirming, holistic care that integrates the mind, body, and spirit. As a multicultural, neurodivergent psychiatrist and daughter of immigrants raised in Chicago, I bring both clinical training and lived experience to our work together. My own journey through burnout and the process of learning to slow down and listen to what my body needed has also shaped the care I provide. It has grounded me in genuine curiosity, humility, and a deep respect for the wisdom you already carry.
Susie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Illinois who earned her Master of Social Work from the Tulane School of Social Work in 1991 and a BA in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin (1989). Her career reflects a deep commitment to helping people through some of life's inevitable challenges.
Susie began her career working with teens and young unwed mothers, offering emotional support, practical problem solving, and guidance in finding resources as they navigated the transition into motherhood. She later moved into private practice, where she provided individual therapy to teens and adults, as well as to married and unmarried couples. Her clinical work has addressed grief, body image, sexuality, medical trauma and illness, anxiety, depression, confidence, and self-image.
After stepping away from clinical practice to raise her three children, Susie continued to work with teens as a tutor, drawing on her therapeutic skills throughout. During this time she also developed expertise in supporting children with ADHD and those on the autism spectrum. That experience led her to advocate for families, helping them navigate school systems to secure the resources and services their children need.
Susie is now returning to work as a therapist, continuing her mission to help people in need lead happier, more meaningful, and more productive lives.

Life can sometimes feel heavier than it should. You may be dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, or a difficult season in your life and wondering how to feel more like yourself again. As a woman, you may also be balancing the needs of everyone around you while putting your own needs aside. You deserve a place to slow down, be heard, and make sense of what you are experiencing. Together, we can work toward greater peace, confidence, and balance.
With more than 30 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I bring a warm, holistic, and solution oriented approach to our work. I take time to understand your story and what matters most to you, then draw from CBT, strengths based, and compassion focused approaches to create a path that fits your needs.
You do not have to have everything figured out before reaching out. If something in your life is asking for attention, I invite you to schedule a session. We can start with a conversation about what has been weighing on you and where you would like things to feel different.

I've spent 12 years as a licensed counselor in Chicago working with people of all ages, from young children to seniors. What keeps me in this work is the moment a client realizes they've been surviving something hard, and that there's a different way forward.
I have a particular passion for working with mothers navigating postpartum struggles, families dealing with grief and loss, and adults working through trauma and PTSD. Many of my clients were looking for someone who would be real with them, not just professional. That's what you'll find here.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience, I work with teens and adults navigating stress, anxiety, life changes, relationships, grief, and emotional overwhelm. Sometimes you may not have the words for what you’re feeling—you just know something feels off. I offer a warm, judgment-free space to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and figure out what you need.
I am a social worker and grief counselor, with over 6 years experience working with bereaved clients. I am also a director of mental health education for a grief focused non-profit, creating programs that educate on grief & loss awareness. While grief is my main focus, I hold a special place in my heart for all life transitions, including job/career changes, spiritual adjustments/abuse, and relationship losses.
My approach to counseling begins with a simple conviction: you are more than a diagnosis, a set of symptoms, or a problem to be solved. You are a whole person living a real life—with relationships, responsibilities, experiences, hopes, beliefs, and circumstances that all matter.
I work primarily with adults and couples facing a wide range of concerns and seasons of life. My role is to come alongside you, helping you understand what you are experiencing, see yourself and your circumstances more clearly, and discern how you want to respond to the life before you.
I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a background in nursing leadership and healthcare operations.
