I am here because I deeply care about getting to know you and sharing in your experiences, struggles, hardships and successes. I believe that everyone has the capacity to implement positive changes in their life with a little support. Therapy is a space for everyone to feel welcomed, supported and cared for. My goal is to create an environment that is non-judgmental, feels safe, and allows you to explore your life story, process your experiences, emotions, and better manage life's stressors. You are the expert of your life and I am here to help steer you in the direction in which you want to go. We can absolutely find hope together.
I specialize in working with young adults and adults (18+) in navigating mood and anxiety concerns, life changes and transitions, effective communication, and managing urges. I value meeting you where you are at with your concerns and establishing a collaborative relationship that'll help guide each step of the way.
I attended undergraduate at Millersville University in Pennsylvania and received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I then went on to receive my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology: Counseling from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. I have experience working in residential, partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) programs, as well as seeing individual clients within a private practice.
I have an integrative approach to therapy. I believe that everyone needs something different, therapy is not a "one size fits all," and I value meeting you where you're at. First and foremost, I am client-centered, meaning I really believe you are the expert of your life and experiences, and I respect those experiences and will learn from them to support you in your goals. I am also strengths based, it is important to identify your strengths and build upon them as you are doing the work of therapy. I have a strong background in teaching Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) skills and strategies to assist with mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance, as well as help practice acceptance, create space, engage in our values and commit to actions that align with those values. I value family, connection, humor, genuineness, growth and transparency. I feel truly grateful to have a career that I love and am passionate about. I have been told that I have a calming energy, and I hope that I can bring a sense of calmness or stillness into your life. We all get wrapped up in the busyness and the expectations, myself included. Let's make a space for you.
Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in private practice since 2020. Beforehand, I worked in Chicago schools as a school social worker and paraprofessional. In my practice I focus on helping individuals throughout the lifespan who are looking for healing from trauma, and help managing anxiety and depressive symptoms.
I’m an Army veteran and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is passionate about helping people feel understood, supported, and empowered. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science from National Louis University in 2013 and my master’s degree in Social Work from Aurora University, earning my LSW in 2024 and LCSW in 2025. My experience includes working with veterans, children, teens, young adults, couples, and families across the Department of Veterans Affairs, Volunteers of America Illinois, residential treatment, and dual-diagnosis settings. I support clients navigating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions, including individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community.
I seek to provide culturally affirming, holistic care that integrates the mind, body, and spirit. As a multicultural, neurodivergent psychiatrist and daughter of immigrants raised in Chicago, I bring both clinical training and lived experience to our work together. My own journey through burnout and the process of learning to slow down and listen to what my body needed has also shaped the care I provide. It has grounded me in genuine curiosity, humility, and a deep respect for the wisdom you already carry.
Susie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Illinois who earned her Master of Social Work from the Tulane School of Social Work in 1991 and a BA in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin (1989). Her career reflects a deep commitment to helping people through some of life's inevitable challenges.
Susie began her career working with teens and young unwed mothers, offering emotional support, practical problem solving, and guidance in finding resources as they navigated the transition into motherhood. She later moved into private practice, where she provided individual therapy to teens and adults, as well as to married and unmarried couples. Her clinical work has addressed grief, body image, sexuality, medical trauma and illness, anxiety, depression, confidence, and self-image.
After stepping away from clinical practice to raise her three children, Susie continued to work with teens as a tutor, drawing on her therapeutic skills throughout. During this time she also developed expertise in supporting children with ADHD and those on the autism spectrum. That experience led her to advocate for families, helping them navigate school systems to secure the resources and services their children need.
Susie is now returning to work as a therapist, continuing her mission to help people in need lead happier, more meaningful, and more productive lives.
